If the PT100 temperature sensor needs to be inserted into the soil, the insertion depth must be calculated accurately, and the minimum insertion depth should not be less than 8-10 times the diameter of the temperature sensor protection sleeve.

Choose the placement angle of the PT100 temperature sensor according to the environment. If it is a normal situation, we'd better choose a vertical placement, which can effectively prevent the deformation of the temperature sensor under high temperature. If it is placed in a place with water flow, the sensor should be placed obliquely, generally between 30 degrees and 45 degrees. In some special environments, when it needs to be placed horizontally, a support frame must be installed. In addition, the outlet hole of the junction box should face to prevent moisture and dirt from falling into the junction box.

What should be paid attention to when using PT100 temperature sensor?

1. PT100 temperature sensor is a platinum resistance temperature sensor, it is just a resistance, the resistance value changes with the change of temperature.

2. If the PT100 temperature sensor is directly connected to the PLC 100 meters away, the error must be large.

3. It is recommended to match the transmitter with PT100 temperature sensor, output 4-20mA current.

4. If it is current transmission, more than 100 meters will not be a problem, because it is current output (current size is only related to temperature, not related to external wire resistance), so there is no current loss.

5. If the lead wire is too long, it may introduce interference and the measured value jumps. If this is the case with the digital display, it is recommended to use a shielded cable and filter it in the PLC.
